I bought these to replace the sight glass on the front master cylinder of my ’83 XJ-900 Seca which had gotten so fogged and cracked that you couldn’t see through it at all.I’ve heard people say they ruined a few trying to get it installed correctly, so I was glad to have a four pack. Fortunately, the install went without a hitch on the first try. It was a little tricky to get started straight, but I 3D printed a push block sized to the exact diameter of the glass so I could make sure I had even pressure. I put a light coat of master cylinder grease on the o-ring and carefully pressed it into place using the push block and a woodworking vice. I’ve also seen people use C clamps, but in my case, I could get the corner of the vice inside the reservoir, so I had good backing. It seated firmly and I could see the o-ring was lightly compressed.Perfect! It’s been a couple weeks now and so far, no leaks. With a little paint the master cylinder looks like new again. :-)The only difference I can see vs the stock window is that this one has 3 curved slots for the fluid to flow through, and the stock one just had a single vertical slot. Really, I’ve seen this style more often though, so only someone that wanted absolute factory perfection would ever notice.Happy with the purchase to put a new look and functionality on my old bike. Turned out to be a lot easier than I thought.
